Hummus with a kick. This spicy edamame hummus is delicious and nutritious. The edamame and tahini are the sources of calcium in this whole food plant based recipe. Edamame is also a good source of magnesium, fiber, and vegetable protein.
One cup of edamame = 98 mg of calcium (Ca⁺⁺) and 18 g of protein
One tablespoon of tahini = 64 mg of Ca⁺⁺
I grow a variety of hot peppers in my garden and will freeze them for future use. Fresh or frozen hot pepper can be used in this recipe. Add more cayenne if you don't have a hot pepper readily available.
